How and Why I Became a College
Consultant
|
Let me tell you why I became a college
admission consultant. I originally pursued a degree in psychology due to my
fascination of human behavior and my desire to become a mental health
worker. During my early colleges years, my goal was to become a college
counselor. In my senior year, I decided that I wanted to become a teacher to
inspire students inside the classroom by encouraging them become critical
thinkers, to live better lives, and to reach their human potential. It was
during that year that I decided to become a philosophy teacher. I knew that
teaching philosophy would allow me to fulfill my goal better than if I were
to teach psychology. This required that I pursue a Master's degree in
Philosophy, which I did. I have been teaching and inspiring students inside
the classroom ever since the Fall of 2004.
Throughout my years of teaching, I also
mentored and advised my students. One day, a student hired me to be his
tutor and his college consultant. During our first meeting, he said to me
that I should consider starting up my college admission consulting business
because I was good at what I do and that there are many students out there
in need of my service. He showed me my potential, and this was when I
started my business. Side note: this person is now studying at American
University in Washington, D.C., which is one of the best universities in the
nation for political science.
I am currently teaching at the community
college level and provide free college consultation to my students to help
them build up their academic, extra-curricular, and leadership backgrounds
to help them gain admission into competitive universities. Some of my
students simply desire assistance in the transfer process, and so I provide
this to them as well. Through my college consulting business, I serve
clients residing in the San Francisco Bay Area to do the same. I have also
worked with clients outside of the local area including Florida, North
Carolina, New Jersey, and Canada.
The college admission process can be
confusing, hectic, and stressful for parents and students, and this is where
I step in. I will use my years of experience and research to make this
process easier for parents and students, and therefore reducing stress,
anxiety, and concerns, so that they can focus on their day-to-day tasks. I
act as a mediator between my clients and the universities that they wish to
gain admission into, and therefore simplifying the process dramatically for
parents and students. Unlike your typical high school counselor, I will
provide you with the one-on-one, personalized service that your child needs.
And unlike the typical college counselor, I will not throw you out the door
after 20 minutes of advising. In fact, the average consultation session with
me is 1.5 hours long.
Contact me today to receive a free
telephone consultation so that I can help assess your child's educational
background and determine the best college admission consultation package for
you.
